PCUSA is a “Bottom to Top” organization. That means the congregation elects members to serve on the Session (Administrative Body) for the church. Being a Ruling Elder means you are a servant leader to the people of the church. Our Session, although small, makes all the decisions for our church from provider of electricity, to what ministries should our church dollars support. We support the Presbytery with our dollars and by sending representatives to help make decisions to advocate for our church in West Texas.
This is an important position, and it requires you to be willing to wash the feet of our church members. Please consider serving. If you’re new, and you want to just learn more about PCUSA and our process, ask a current Session Member.
